The vigil went on, even as the rain came down! Wet and bedraggled, the valiant vigilers nevertheless stood their ground on the corner, holding their saran-wrapped signs and posters! We were rewarded, as we often are, by random strangers stopping by to thank us for being there, by waves and honked horns and thumbs-up. At one point, the proprietor of the Washington House came out and offered her large umbrella to one soaked sign-holder! We will be back next week - and every week until the children are re-united with their families, and there is no more indefinite family detention!
