Dangerous Heat: How You Can Help

Bucks County is under an Excessive Heat Warning through Sunday evening. Pennridge FISH has opened a cooling center at their annex on West Chestnut Street to give adults a safe place to escape the heat. There is real, immediate work our community can plug into.

Donate Goods

The center needs DVDs, puzzles, nicely used games, adult coloring books, used books, cases of water, and Gatorade. Drop off at 800 W. Chestnut Street, Perkasie during regular FISH hours: Monday and Wednesday 3-5 PM, Thursday 6-8 PM, Friday and Saturday 9-11 AM. Use the back door by the kitchen and ring the bell. Let the volunteer know your donation is for the cooling center.

Volunteer

FISH is staffing the cooling center with volunteers throughout the warning. If you can give a few hours, call FISH at 215-257-7616.

Congratulations to our 2026 Democratic Primary Winners

Congratulations to Our 2026 Democratic Primary Winners!

Voters braved brutal heat to make their voices heard, and we are proud of every candidate who put themselves on the line.

Congratulations to our nominees: Mark Pinsley for State Senate (16th District), Bob Harvie for Congress (PA-1), Tim Hayes for State Rep (143rd), and Les Mavus for State Rep (145th, not pictured).

Special thanks to Pennridge’s own Bradley Merkl-Gump, who ran a great campaign focused on public education and working families. And recognition for Upper Bucks’ Lucia Simonelli, who exceeded expectations as a first-time grassroots candidate and elevated the conversation.

To every Democratic volunteer, no matter who you supported: thank you. Now let’s win the trifecta in Harrisburg and flip Congress in November!
